The North Greenville Crusaders finished up a busy week in Mount Olive, North Carolina by splitting a doubleheader with the Trojans of the University of Mount Olive with NGU winning game one with a score of 6-3 and falling in extra innings in game two with a score of 12-11. Game one saw North Greenville lead throughout all of game one, scoring a trouble of six runs on thirteen hits including a three run home run by
Brianna McRae.
Karley Green went on to pitch a complete game, allowing three earned runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out four and earning the win. Game two became a thriller after UMO pulled away early on, leading 9-1 at the end of the fourth inning. NGU put together an impressive comeback by scoring three runs in the fifth including another three run home run by
Brianna McRae. Down by six runs with two outs in the top of the seventh, the Crusaders would defy the odds by going on to score six runs to tie the score of 10-10. Both teams would score a run in the eighth and went scoreless in the ninth. After the Crusaders failed to score a run in the tenth, UMO would score the winning run on a walkoff single up the middle.
Karley Green pitched the final 4.2 innings but was the losing pitcher.
