Banner Elk, N.C. – The season came to a close on Wednesday for North Greenville with a heart breaking 64 – 62 loss to Lees-McRae.
North Greenville led by as many as 17 – points during Wednesday night's game and carried a nine – point advantage into halftime. The Bobcats capitalized on a fast pace in the second half, chipped away at the lead using 17 – fast break points. North Greenville's bench kept the Crusaders in contention with 24 – points on the night.
Lees-McRae earned its first lead of the night with 31 – seconds left with a pair of free throws that made it 62 – 61. NGU responded when Caleb hit the front end of a pair of shots from the charity stripe. A lay-up with one second left of the clock to edge North Greenville in the final score column.
