Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders were victorious in their first home game of the season, defeating the Limestone Saints with a final score of 72-67 at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU struggled from the field in the first half, trailing 35-28 with a .345 field goal percentage at halftime. Although the Crusaders trailed the night in 2nd chance points as well as fast break points, North Greenville would turn things around in the second half, posting a .539 field goal percentage to outscore the Saints 44-32 in the half and hang on for a five point victory. NGU finished the game with a .436 field goal percentage.
Max Topham finished a strong performance with 20 points, 3 rebounds, a steal, and an assist.
Zak Perdew posted 15 points, 5 rebounds, a steal, and an assist.
Babatunde Ajike neared a double-double, recording 10 rebounds and 8 points as well as 2 assists.
NGU will return to action tomorrow in Charleston, South Carolina against The Citadel.
