The North Greenville Crusaders improved their record to 2-1 with a win over the previously undefeated Lions of Mars Hill University this afternoon in Mars Hill, North Carolina. After trailing in total shots 5-3 in the first half, NGU would increase the attack in the second half, putting up eight in the half and leading the shot column 11-10. Neither goalkeeper would record a save in the first half, but both would go on to collect three saves in the second half. Mars Hill would get on the board first early on in the match with an unassisted goal just past five minutes in. Nearly twenty minutes later, the Crusaders responded with an unassisted goal by
Carlos Navarro. Just past five minutes into the second half, NGU would score what would go on to become the game-winning goal by
Reda Ikarrain found the back of the net with an assist by
Nico Ferraro. From there the North Greenville defense would come through as
Michel Weber would record his three saves within the final thirty-two minutes.
