From Coach Stober
"We were really looking forward to today. We backed things off a little bit this week with our training to allow us to go into today's race a little more fresh. We knew that this course is one of the faster ones that we will race all season. And we had GREAT conditions today. The temperature wasn't too hot, and the course was in good condition.
Both teams ran well. On the women's side
Juliana Gonzalez ran a big lifetime PB. We had lots of girls close to their lifetime PB's. Avery is now #3 all-time on the women's 5K list for NGU women. Juliana is 7th on that list. For the men,
Solomon Canup had an awesome race and went on to run a big PB.
Jacob Holcombe put his nose in there with the big boys and had a top 20 finish.
Both teams finished as the #2 team for Conference Carolinas at today's race, and the men actually beat a top 10 team in our region, Georgia College.
I'm proud of our team and I look forward to seeing what we can do throughout the remainder of the season."
