Box Score The North Greenville men's soccer program began the 2022 season with a tough loss to the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern State University with a final score of 3-2 in Americus, Georgia. NGU dominated in total shots 16-7 and put seven shots on goal while the Hurricanes put five of their seven total shots on goal. North Greenville fell behind early on in the first half but
Reda Ikarrain would score an equalizer in the 38th minute immediately after a missed penalty kick. Things would remain even until the 71st minute when Georgia Southwestern State took the lead back with an assisted goal. Just over nine minutes later, NGU drew even yet again when
Renan Macuglia scored a solo goal. However, in the final minute of the match, GSW would stun North Greenville by finding the back of the net for the final time with an assisted goal that would turn into the game-winning goal.
Arthur Leray would get the final shot off in the match, but it would be deflected as North Greenville would come up just short in the season opener.
