Box Score Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders were able to hang on late to defeat the previously-undefeated Bearcats of Lander University with a final score of 15-14 this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. In a game of momentum swings, the Crusaders opened up the match with the first two goals. After the Bearcats scored two of the next three, NGU would then score three in a row including two man-up goals to lead 6-2. However, Lander would dominate the remainder of the 2nd quarter, scoring seven of the next eight goals including a last-second shot that hit the back of the net with .1 seconds remaining to take a 9-7 lead into halftime. Momentum shifted back to the Crusaders in the 3rd as well as the first half of the 4th quarter as a 7-1 run by NGU would put the Crusaders up 14-10. LU once again took the momentum back, scoring four straight goals to tie things up with less than three minutes remaining. With less than ninety seconds remaining, the Crusaders would come through with what would go on to become the game-winning goal. Lander would get one last shot with the ball but a turnover would allow North Greenville to keep the ball away from the Bearcats, eventually allowing the time to expire.
