From Coach Stober
"Our team ran hard and battled today. Though we didn't have the team finishes that we were hoping for, we had some notable individual performances.
On the women's side Avery Shope once again led the way. She mixed it up with the best girls in the conference and ended up finishing 14th overall (earning 2nd team all conference honors). She also worked her way up to #3 all-time in program history for women's 6K. Juliana Gonzalez also ran a good race and finished 21st overall (earning 3rd team all conference honors). Beka and Zoie both ran well as our #3 and #4. We lost two of our top 6 girls in the last two days due to sickness, but Bri Miller did an excellent job stepping up and running #5 for us today. I was really proud of her. I feel like Kylie also had one of her better races of the season today.
On the men's side
Jacob Holcombe led the way and ran an amazing race. He proved that he can run with the best in the conference as he finished 6th overall (earning first team all conference honors). I was really proud of how he ran in his last cross country conference championship. Hayden had a tough day, but that doesn't take away from the incredible season that he has had. He's been consistent and dependable for us all season. Victor had a great finish today as he worked up a lot over the last mile or so. We've had some tough situations on men's side this year losing three of our top runners to injuries and sickness. But our guys stayed focused and kept working hard. Jaxon ran consistently for us all season as our #4, and Thaddaeus stepped up today running a solid race as our #5.
As always, I'm proud of our team. We've battled through a lot and they have maintained great energy throughout the course of the season."
