Tigerville – North Greenville gears up for week nine on the gridiron as Valdosta State makes the trek to Younts Stadium for a 3 PM kickoff against the Crusaders. <br />

The Crusaders are back in Tigerville after a road win against West Alabama last weekend in what was another instant classic between the two teams. North Greenville trailed late but drove 75 – yards to score the go-ahead touchdown with seven seconds left on the clock. The win over West Alabama snapped a three-game losing skid for NGU. <br />
<br />
The Blazers of Valdosta State have lost four straight games heading into this weekend, most recently falling to West Georgia 54 – 17. The Blazers, typically among the nation's best teams are currently 3 – 5 with a 1 – 4 record in the Gulf South. <br />

<li>North Greenville is 0 – 3 versus the Blazers with two losses coming on the road. </li>
<li>The first meeting was in 2018 when North Greenville lost 44 – 41 in Valdosta, Georgia. </li>
<li>The Blazers won 31 – 21 in 2021, a season in which they made it to the 2021 National Championship game. </li>
<li>2019 marks the only home game for NGU against Valdosta State, a game in which the Crusaders lost 20 – 15. The Blazers were a top-10 team at the time. </li>

<li>North Greenville is a 2.5 – point underdog heading in to Saturday's game with Valdosta State. </li>
<li>North Greenville continues to rack up on weekly GSC awards. Dylan Ramirez claimed his third Freshman of the Week award for his performance against West AL. </li>

Colin Karhu also nabbed some conference recognition last week after being named the Special Teams Player of the Week. Karhu knocked through a program record five field goals against the Tigers. </li>
<li>The turnover train keeps on rolling for North Greenville. The Crusaders have now intercepted an opponent pass in six consecutive games and are ranked inside the top-20 with 11 on the season. </li>
<li>Special teams have been a strength this season and
Myles Prosser continues to be one of the best punters in the country. Prosser is third in Division – II averaging 44.97 yards per kick. He leads the Gulf South in average and has 12 – punts of 50+ yards. </li>
<li>North Greenville's defense will need to have one of its better days to stop the Valdosta State offense. The Blazers are scoring at a clip of 35 – points a contest, averaging 482 – yards in the process. </li>
<li>The defense for the Blazers has been the Achilles heel, allowing opponents to score 38 points a game while racking up almost 490 – yards of offense. </li>
<li>Meanwhile North Greenville is allowing 34 points per game while scoring just over 26. </li>
