Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville men's soccer program scored a 2-0 victory to begin the season over the Canes of Georgia Southwestern State University at Pepsi Stadium. After a relatively quiet first half, both teams would get their offenses going. However, NGU would be the team to take advantage of their shots as they would find the back of the net twice in the half.

Recap

• Georgia Southwestern entered the shot column quickly with a shot in the very first minute of the match. The hurricanes would post the first four of the first shots of the half, but NGU would get going offensively, putting up three shots in a row. Both teams would stay off the board in the first half.
• Both teams continued to attack early and often in the second half. In the 72nd minute, the Crusaders would break the tie when Luiz Lezarma scored a goal with an assist by Luiz Neto. From there, the Crusader defense held up strong, and in the 88th minute the game would be put on ice with an unassisted goal by Kalvin Semedo.
