Tigerville, SC - In their first ever matchup as conference opponents, North Greenville fell to the Braves of UNC Pembroke with a final score of 3-1 this evening at Hayes Gymnasium. North Greenville put up a tough fight, but attack errors proved too costly to overcome as NGU ended up with a total of 34 attack errors, which was twice as many as the Braves. After dropping the first two sets, North Greenville would hang in there by winning set three and would force extra points in set four but would ultimately fall short.

Recap
- The opening set resulted in solid play by both teams with NGU recording a .303 attack percentage and the Braves responding with a .419 percentage. Although the Crusaders led in kills for the set, UNCP was able to get the most out of their kills while committing just two errors to take the first set 25-23.
- NGU would struggle in the second set with eight kills and eight errors for a .000 attack percentage. The two teams would start off fairly even with the lead being exchanged several times, but UNC Pembroke completely take over, ending the set on an 18-3 run to win it 25-13.
- Set three was led early on by the Crusaders who took a six point lead with the help of a 7-1 run. UNCP would hang in there to keep the set competitive but would eventually run out of time as North Greenville would force a fourth set with a 25-23 set win.
- The fourth set would prove to be the most competitive as extra points were required. Both teams combined for sixteen attack errors and an attack percentage of .100 or less. Late in the set, it seemed that the Braves would end things easily but NGU was able to storm back into the set with a 7-1 run. North Greenville would end up being position to score the set point, but the Braves responded with three points in a row to put an end to the set and the match.
Individual
- Abigail Durham set a season-high twenty kills and also provided seven digs and five block assists.
- Ashlyn Conner recorded thirty-eight assists, thirteen digs, and two service aces.
- Whitley Kahler posted fourteen didgs, six assists, and a service ace.
