Navarro Scores Three in Productive Day against Southern Wesleyan

The North Greenville Crusaders stormed to a 9-2 victory over the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University this afternoon in Central, South Carolina. NGU led 5-2 at halftime, then added to the lead in the 2nd half with three unanswered goals. With the win, North Greenville returns to a .500 record. Carlos Navarro led the way with three goals.

Recap
  • NGU would get off to a very fast start as Carlos Navarro would score his first as well as NGU's first goal less than a minute into the match. Connor Hall would follow that up with a goal, and Renan Macuglia would add to the lead with a penalty kick goal. SWU would get on the board just under ten minutes into the half. However, Navarro would connect for his second goal just two minutes later. After another goal by the Warriors, Erick Gonzalez would cap off the 1st half scoring with a goal off an assist by Max Huber to give the Crusaders a 5-2 lead at halftime.
  • North Greenville would repeat the fast start in the 2nd half with yet another goal by Carlos Navarro and an assist by Michael Lamb once again less than a minute into the half. Keletso Mathathe would enter the goal column with a goal off an assist by Gareth Greene. With about twenty minutes remaining, Gareth Greene would find the back of the net, and Macuglia would score his second goal not long after.
