Big 1st Half Leads to Dominant Win Over Mount Olive

Box Score Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put together a dominating victory over the Mount Olive Trojans with a final score of 6-1 this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. North Greenville put the game away early with all goals being scored in the 1st half. After halftime, both teams would play well defensively as the 2nd half would go scoreless. The win is head coach Andy Aulick's first collegiate victory. Gareth Greene put together a career day, scoring three goals and providing an assist.

Recap
  • The 1st half would get off to a slow start, but Mount Olive would get the first key opportunity of the game by way of a penalty kick. However, Noah Kendrick would come through with a save to keep the Trojans off the board. Fifteen minutes into the match, Gareth Greene would score the opening goal with an assist by Jorge Henao-Chica. Less than five minutes later, Greene came through again with his second goal of the match. Shortly after, Carlos Navarro would score NGU's third goal by way of a penalty kick. The Trojans would connect with a goal in the 21st minute to get on the board, but the Crusaders would respond just eight minutes later with Gareth Greene's third goal and an assist by Keletso Mathathe. Mathathe would then score a goal himself with an assist by GreeneĀ to put NGU's fifth goal on the board. Finally, North Greenville would wrap up their historic first half with a sixth goal, scored by Brady Carmichael and assisted by Mathathe.
