Box Score Tigerville, SC - North Greenville men's lacrosse opened up their 2021 season with a 13-9 loss to the University of Montevallo Falcons this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. The Crusaders led the game by far in total shots 57-35 as well as face offs 17-8, but would end up on the short end of the scoreboard.
Thomas Cecere began his season with a hat trick.

Recap
- The Falcons would be the first to get on the board. However, NGU would quickly respond with a goal by Owen Ingham. From there, Montevallo would score three unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead. Corey Long would end the opening quarter with a goal for the Crusaders.
- NGU would take multiple shots to begin the 2nd quarter, but UM would again be the team to score the first two goals of the quarter. However, Devin Napoli and Thomas Cecere would get NGU back into the game with two goals. With less than two minutes remaining, Montevallo would post one more goal to go up 7-4 at the half.
- After two goals by the Falcons to begin the 3rd quarter, Lucas Yearwood would score his first goal of the season. After a goal by Montevallo, NGU would go on a run, scoring three out of the next four with a goal by Devin Napoli and two goals by Thomas Cecere to put the Crusaders back within three.
- The scoring would slow down in the 4th quarter, with UM eventually striking just past five minutes in and adding another insurance goal with just over a minute remaining. NGU would score one final goal by Koly Bollman, but would run out of time.
