Tigerville, SC - North Greenville split their first home series of the season against the Wolves of Newberry College with final scores of 4-0 in favor of Newberry and 7-2 in favor of NGU this afternoon at
Jan McDonald FIeld. The Crusaders struggled in the opening game, recording no runs, six hits, and four errors. However, NGU would come back strong in game two, scoring seven runs on eleven hits and no errors.
Jaelin Griffin recorded her third win of the season while
Claire Gilmore and
Brooklyn Stone posted four hits each.

Recap
- North Greenville would get an early opportunity in the first game of the series, loading the bases in the bottom of the 1st. However, two strikeouts would end the inning without a runner crossing the plate. Lander would get on the board in the top of the 2nd with a sacrifice fly. A throwing error in the top of the 3rd would allow the Bearcats to add their second run of the game to the board. Brooklyn Stone and Brianna McRae would both hit one out singles in the bottom of the 3rd, but a strikeout and a lineout would end the threat. In the bottom of the 6th, Claire Gilmore put herself in scoring position with a double to left field. Brianna McRae also walked in the inning, but the Crusaders once again went scoreless in the inning. Newberry added two insurance runs in the top of the 7th with a solo home run and an RBI triple. NGU put up a fight in the bottom of the 7th with singles by Aschlyn Hutto and Claire Gilmore, but three outs would follow as the Wolves completed the shutout. Callie Richards pitched a complete game but was the losing pitcher.
- The second game saw the Crusaders as the first team to get on the board when Josie Reed singled up the middle to bring in the first run. In the bottom of the 3rd, Josie Reed would add two more runs to the board with a 2-RBI double to right center. A solo shot in the top of the 4th put Newberry on the board, but the Crusaders would blow the game open in the bottom of the inning with three more runs including an RBI single to left field by Carmen Silvester and a 2-RBI single through the right side by Aschlyn Hutto. The Wolves put one last run on the board, but NGU would ultimately take the game without much of an issue. Jaelin Richards earned the win.

- Claire Gilmore had a solid day, recording 4 hits including two doubles.
- Brooklyn Stone put together a similar performance, also posting 4 hits and 2 doubles.
- Jaelin Griffin earned her 3rd win of the season, pitching 5.0 innings and allowing just 2 earned runs off of 3 hits and a walk. She struck out 7.
