How it Happened
First Quarter: North Greenville's defense held the Hawks scoreless on their opening drive, setting the tone for an explosive day for NGU's offense. The Crusaders scored 21-points in the opening frame, the best single quarter for the Crusaders this season.
Dre Williams got NGU on the board with a 71-yard run to make it 7-0.
Kaelan Riley found
Doug Washington and
Andrew Yates for a pair of throwing TD's to make it 21-0. Both Washington and Yates reeled in two touchdown catches today, the only two scores of the season for the duo.
Second Quarter: The Crusaders added a pair of scores in the second quarter, a pair of touchdown runs from
Cale Swift and
EJ Humphrey. North Greenville's defense allowed just 96-yards of total offense in the first half, including five drives in which the Hawks were held under 10-yards.
Third Quarter: Riley once again found Yates and Washington in the third quarter with touchdown passes of nine and 10-yards. The lead ballooned to 49 as the game headed to the fourth quarter.
Fourth Quarter: A third player for North Greenville scored his first touchdown of the season and first of the year when
Yavin Smith scored from six yards out to put an exclamation poing on NGU's second league win of the season.
