Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville-Converse series began with a 2-1 victory on a rainy evening at Pepsi Stadium. North Greenville scored two goals in the first half, which was just enough to hang on for the win despite a strong fight by the Valkyries.

Recap

• North Greenville would put together a strong first half, leading in shots 9-4 and scoring two goals in the process. Gareth Greene would put up a strong kick off an assist by Soto Kubo that put the Crusaders on the board. Just over ten minutes later, Renan Macuglia scored a goal of his own to put North Greenville up 2-0. 
• Both teams would post their share of shots in the second half, with Converse slightly leading in the column 9-7. In the 84th minute, the Valkyries would find the back of the net off a free kick just outside of the box to pull back within a goal. However, the NGU defense would keep Converse from a second goal, sealing the win for the Crusaders.

Individual

• Gareth Greene scored a goal and posted a total of six shots with three of them on goal.
• Renan Macuglia scored his first goal of the season.
• Soto Kubo provided the only assist of the match.
