Box Score The North Greenville Crusaders fell to the Lees-McRae Bobcats with a final score of 100-91 in Banner Elk, North Carolina. After falling behind in the first half, NGU went on to outscore the Bobcats in the second half, but ultimately still fell short in the contest. Jalon Cokley put together a huge game, posting a season-high 36 points.
Lees-McRae began the game with the momentum, getting things started with an 11-2 run. The Crusaders responded to pull within five before LMC would regain a double digit lead. The Bobcats would hold on to that lead throughout the remainder of the half. North Greenville trailed by seventeen points with less than a minute remaining in the half, but finished the half with the final five points to go into halftime with a twelve point deficit.
Jalon Cokley would get the second half started with a three pointer. A 7-0 run by the Crusaders cut the deficit to seven. NGU would continue to stay in the fight, but were unable to continue to cut into the deficit. Lees-McRae held on to a fairly comfortable lead, eventually going back to double digits. Trailing by seventeen once again, the Crusaders put up one last fight with a six point run, but the Bobcats would hang on for a nine point victory.
The Crusaders will head to Mount Olive, North Carolina to face the Trojans of the University of Mount Olive on Saturday, February 22nd.
