The North Greenville Crusaders narrowly fell to the Cobras of Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina with a final score of 9-8. Coker jumped ahead with a big 1st quarter. NGU would outscore the Cobras in the second half and even claim the lead, but two late goals by Coker resulted in a 1 point defeat. Gunnar Wilson and Thomas Cecere both lead the team with 2 goals.

Just over a minute into the 1st quarter, Coker put up the first shot of the game, which resulted in a goal. After a second goal by the Cobras, North Greenville was able to get on the board when Austin Zumbado scored with an assist by Brendan Sullivan just under five minutes into the quarter. About a minute and half later, Jacob Able tied the game for the Crusaders with an unassisted goal. After a goal by each team including one by Derrick Shealy to keep the game tied at 3-3, the Cobras would close out the quarter with three straight goals to lead 6-3.

A defensive 2nd quarter resulted in just one goal, which was scored by NGU's Gunnar Wilson. Braeden Dixon would post three saved in the half to keep Coker off the board in the quarter. The Cobras would take a 6-4 lead into halftime.

North Greenville would get off to a fast start in the 3rd quarter with three straight goals, two of which were scored by Cecere and the third by Wilson. CC would finally add a goal of their own to the board with just over five minutes remaining in the quarter. The last five minutes would go scoreless to make the game tied at 7-7 heading to the 4th quarter.

NGU quickly reclaimed the lead just over a minute into the 4th quarter with an unassisted goal by Blake Thompson. Over ten minutes would go by without a goal being scored by either team. That drought would finally end when the Cobras scored another game-tying goal. With just under a minute and half left in the game, Coker's Kaden Ross scored what would end up being the game-winning goal. Austin Zumbado would get off one final shot as time expired, but a save kept the ball out of the goal to preserve the Coker victory.

The Crusaders will face the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday, February 22nd in their first home game of the season.
