NGU Puts Together Strong Second Half to Beat Bob Jones

North Greenville achived an 87-76 victory over the Bruins of Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. After a close 1st half, NGU outscored the Bruins 48-39 in the second half for an 11 point win. C.J. Jamison put together a strong performance, posting 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals.

After an even start, NGU would be the first to hit double digits to lead 10-6. North Greenville would hang on to a three point lead for the next several minutes before a three by Jacob Redding put the Crusaders up by six with 12:47 remaining in the first half. North Greenville would go on to lead by as much as ten in the half, but Bob Jones would fight back to score ten in a row, tying the game at 31-31. The rest of the half would remain tight. BJU took the lead with just under two minutes left, but a three by Redding gave the Crusaders a one point lead going into halftime. 

Bob Jones would hit an early three to take what would become their final lead of the game. North Greenville would follow that up with an 11-2 run to take a 50-42 lead. Down by twelve, the Bruins would put up a fight with a six point run, but the Crusaders would put an end to the drought, hanging on to a relatively comfortable lead throughout the next several minutes. Bob Jones would eventually put a scare into NGU by cutting the deficit to four with 3:02 remaining. However, the Crusaders would end the game on a 13-6 run to ultimately win by eleven.

The Crusaders will return to conference play when they face the Barton Bulldogs on Saturday, February 15th in Tigerville.
