Set one required extra points until FMU put it to rest with a 26-24 set win. The Patriots were on the verge of putting the set away with a 16-11 lead, but the Crusaders fought back with a 6-0 run to lead by one point. NGU went on to lead 24-23, but Francis Marion responded by scoring the final three points.
NGU led 6-3 to begin set two. However, the Patriots then went on a ferocious 14-2 run to put the set out of reach. They would go on to take the set 25-16.
After Francis Marion took an early 11-8 lead, the Crusaders fought back to go on a 7-3 run to lead 15-14. FMU would take over from there, scoring 11 of the final 14 points to take the set 25-17.
North Greenville will get one more chance to take a match from the Queens Fall Classic when they face the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne University this afternoon at 2:30 PM.
