Box Score North Greenville was unable to bounce back in the second match of the day, falling to the Augusta Jags 3-0 in Charlotte, North Carolina. With the loss, the Crusaders begin the season 0-2 heading into Saturday's contests. Katie McManaway put together a strong performance with 7 kills and 26 total attacks.
Set one was a struggle for NGU with 11 errors and 7 kills for an attack percentage of -.143. Augusta got off to a strong start and was able to increase their lead throughout the set, ultimately taking it 25-18.
The second set saw the Crusaders lead early on with a 7-3 lead. However, the Jags fought right back to tie the set 10-10. From there, AU would take over and ultimtely win the set 25-21. NGU did improve in the set with a .077 attack percentage.
Augusta was able to pull ahead early in the third set. North Greenville didn't give in without a fight though, cutting the deficit to two points. However, the Jags closed out the set scoring 9 of the final 12 points to win it 25-17.
NGU returns to action tomorrow at 10:00 AM against the Francis Marion Patriots in Charlotte.
