Crusaders Drop Contest to Georgia College

Box Score

NGU wrapped up their weekend with a 72-63 loss to the Bobcats of Georgia College in Due West, South Carolina. The Crusaders outscored the Bobcats in the second half, but the ten point deficit at halftime proved to be too much to recover from. Jalon Cokley led the way with 16 points.

After the Bobcats began the game with an early 7-3 lead, the Crusaders responded with an 11-0 run to lead 14-7. Four ties would follow before GC began to pull away with an 8-0 run. After a three pointer by Jacob Redding, Georgia College ended the half with a jumpshot to take a 37-27 lead as time expired.

Georgia College began the second half with a 6-2 run to lead 43-29. From there, North Greenville would slowly attempt to dig into the deficit. The Crusaders were able to get within seven points several times throughout the half, but were never able to get any closer. NGU ended the game with six of the final eight points, but would ultimately fall to GC with a final score of 72-63.

North Greenville will play in Tigerville for the first time this season on Wednesday, November 13th against the Anderson Trojans.
