Box Score North Greenville took care of business with a 3-0 victory over the Southern Wesleyan Warriors in Central, South Carolina. With the win, the Crusaders have moved up to the #4 spot in the South Division of the Conference Carolinas standings, which makes NGU currently eligible for the Conference Carolinas tournament. Caroline Forster had another solid day with 15 kills and 23 total attacks.
Things got off to a good start for NGU with a 6-0 beginning to the opening set. The Crusaders led by as much as eight before the Warriors showed some fight with a seven-point run to get within a point. However, with the exception of a four-point run by the Warriors, North Greenville went on to dominate the remainder of the set, winning it 25-17.
Set two proved to be the most competitive of the match. The Warriors would take a 9-6 lead before the Crusaders put together a 12-5 run to lead 18-14. A 6-1 run by SWU would be followed by a 6-1 run by NGU to close out the set with a 25-21 set victory for North Greenville.
For the second straight set, the Warriors would begin with an early lead. Trailing 7-5, the Crusaders once again took the momentum, going on a 9-1 run to lead 14-8. The momentum would continue for the remainder of the set, with NGU taking the final set 25-15.
North Greenville will return to the court on Friday, November 15th to take on the Erskine Flying Fleet in Due West, South Carolina.
