NGU Struggles From Three Point Line In Loss to Limestone

NGU fell to the Limestone Saints with a final score of 90-71 in Gaffney, SC. North Greenville finished with a respectable 45.5 field goal percentage, but hit just 16.7% of shots from the three point line. Ryan Mobley led the Crusaders with 24 points.

1st Half

The Crusaders fell into a hole early with Limestone beginning the game on a 12-2 run. NGU quickly responded to cut the deficit to five points inlcuding a dunk by Kovi Tate, but LC got going again and opened their lead up to twelve points. North Greenville trailed by double digits for most of the half, but a late run cut the deficit back to seven points going into the half. Roderick Howell led the Crusaders with nine points. 

2nd Half

Limestone once again got off to a fast start, going on an 11-1 run to begin the half. The two teams would trade points for much of the half, with the Saints consistently hanging on to a fourteen-point lead. With less than two minutes to go, LC held their largest lead of the game at 25 points, but the Crusaders were able to end the game on a positive note by scoring seven of the final eight points. Ryan Mobley dominated the second half with 21 points. 

Individual

Ryan Mobley led NGU with 24 points while also recording 2 steals, an assist, a rebound, and a block.

Kovi Tate posted 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Roderick Howell neared a double double with 9 points and 9 rebounds.

Upcoming

NGU will be on short rest as they will travel to Bristol, Tennessee to face the King Tornado on Thursday, January 31st.
