Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville overcame a slow start on Wednesday afternoon to down Lees-McRae College to improve to 2 – 0 in Conference Carolinas play.

How it Happened

• North Greenville broke through first with consecutive scores from Chris Carpenter and Corey Long in the first quarter.
• Carpenter would score his second of the game with 7:42 on the first-period clock but an outmanned Lees-McRae squad scored a pair of first-quarter tallies and trailed by just one.
• (Derrick Shealy scored less than 30-seconds into the second quarter to double-up the Bobcats while Carpenter and Drew Warren extended the lead to 6 – 2 before half.
• The Bobcats continued to claw at NGU countering with one goal to end the first half and another to open the third to make it 6 – 4.
• The Crusaders would answer with a 9 – 1 scoring spree that put Lees-McRae in a 15 – 5 hole.
• Each team traded goals until late in the fourth quarter when the Bobcats scored consecutively to make it 18 – 9 with 1:19 left.
• Owen Reighard put the exclamation point on NGU’s win with a goal with just 48-seconds on the clock, the final score of the day.
