NGU Unable to Calm Tornado

Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville was the victim of a strong night of three-point shooting by the King Tornado, who made 15 out of 32 shots from behind the arc (46.9%), which accounted for nearly half of King's points. The Crusaders kept the score fairly close thanks to 21 second chance points, but a cold second half allowed the Tornado to pull away in the end. Jalon Cokley led NGU in points with 21.

How it Happened

  • North Greenville showed that they were up for the challenge in the first half with a 50% field goal percentage. After King jumped to a 10-3 lead, NGU fought right back and scored the next five points. A run by the Tornado allowed them to build their lead up to 10 points with 3:47 remaining in the first half. NGU closed the gap slightly, but King was able to add to it with a three-pointer with five seconds remaining to put them up by eleven at the half. Jalon Cokley led NGU in the first half with 17 points.
  • The Crusaders quickly cut the deficit down to eight to begin the second half, but King took over and never looked back. KU scored seven three-pointers in seven minutes to take a twenty point lead with 9:57 remaining. North Greenville continued to fight, but lost 91-68 in the end.
