Turnovers Plague Crusaders in Loss to Barton

North Greenville fell to the Barton Bulldogs 97-56 in Wilson, North Carolina. Barton was able to capitalize off of NGU's 22 turnovers, scoring 39 points off turnovers. Kovi Tate recorded his third-consecutive double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

1st Half

Barton pulled away early with an 23-8 run. North Greenville was never able to put together a run in the half and also struggled from three-point range with just one out of eight shots made. A 13-3 run to end the half by the Bulldogs put them up 44-21 going into halftime. NGU shot 36.1% from the field. Kovi Tate led the Crusaders with six points.

2nd Half

NGU started out strong to begin the second half with a 5-2 run. However, the Crusaders eventually went on a cold spell, scoring just two points in a five minute period. The Bulldogs would continue to increase their lead throughout the remainder of the game, winning 97-56. North Greenville put together a 37.1 field goal percentage in the half. Kovi Tate led in points for the second half as well with eleven.

Individual

Kovi Tate recorded his third-consecutive double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. In addition, he posted 3 assists and a block.

Corey Walters scored 9 points and recorded an assist.

DJ Brooks posted 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.

Upcoming

North Greenville will travel to Belmont, NC on Friday, December 7th to face the Belmont Abbey Crusaders.
