Moore's 15 not enough as league leading Limestone earns conference win

Box Score

Gaffney, S.C. – Eight players scored for the Crusaders led by Matt Moore’s 15-points as North Greenville falls to conference leading Limestone 69-54.

Nine different players scored for the Crusaders including Justin Dotson who had 10-points. Dotson was NGU’s only other double-figure scorer. Tommy Wade and Daniel Burchette both had six points.

The Crusaders trailed by 21-points in the second half but fought back to cut the deficit to eight-points with 11:12 left in the game. NGU went on an 18-5 run that spanned just over six minutes of the half to cut into the Limestone lead. Tommy Wade capped the run with a three pointer that made the score 55-47.

North Greenville was able to keep the game close until the final two minutes when the Saints knocked down a three-pointer of their own to extend a 12-point lead to 15. The three pointer would prove to be the dagger as the Saints would go on to earn the league win over the struggling Crusaders.

North Greenville is now 8-15 overall and 3-13 in league play. The Crusaders will be back in action on February 9th when they travel to Due West, South Carolina to take on Erskine in a 7:30pm tipoff.
