Crusaders roll past Southern Wesleyan for second straight league win

Tigerville, S.C. -- The North Greenville Men’s Basketball team rolled over Southern Wesleyan University Wednesday night, 80-56.

Finishing what they started in the beginning the game, the Crusaders went ahead 48-28 going into the half. The 20-point deficit proved too much for the Warriors who trailed the final 20-minutes of the second half.

The Crusaders opened the game on a 20-9 that lasted seven minutes of the first half. They continued to pressure the Warriors down the stretch, causing 13 turnovers (4 of which were steals), which led to 22 points. NGU set a blistering pace for Wednesday’s game as the Warriors struggled to keep up.

Dynamic duo Justin Dotson and Jai Jencks led the team in scoring with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Dotson, with Matt Moore and Daniel Burchette, contributed 7 of the 8 three pointers. Southern Wesleyan showed poor accuracy with 33.9% of their FG’s made.

The Crusaders, now 8-13 overall, 3-11 in the league will play the Barton College Bulldogs in another crucial Conference game this Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
