Tigerville – A pitchers duel turned in to a big win for North Greenville on Friday as the trailblazers earned a 13 – 0 win over conference rival Mount Olive to open a three – game set.
A scoreless game changed quickly on Friday as NGU took control in the middle and late innings. A scoreless tie was broken in the bottom of the fourth on a
Josh Foulks solo home run. Foulks delivered again for NGU in the sixth inning when singled through the left side to score Masnon Swinney and extend the lead to two.
Kai Tullos got in on the sixth inning action with an RBI single that brought in a pair of runs and made it 4 – 0 in favor of NGU.
The sixth inning was part of three straight scoring frames for North Greenville. The Trailblazers tacked on four runs in the seventh and five in the eighth. Foulks delivered another RBI with a sacrifice while
Lane McGaha delivered a two-run homer in the seventh inning. The eighth inning was headlined by a
Mason Swinney homer and another
Josh Foulks RBI base hit.
Darrien Whitaker also came through with an Rbi single that scored two.
Foulks finished 3 – 4 with a game high four RBI and three runs scored.
Mason Swinney had one of his best days of the season as he was also 3 – 4 with a pair of RBI and three runs scored.
Thomas Powell was 2 – 4 while
CJ Dean was 2 – 5.
Matty Brown got the win pitching seven innings allowing no runs on six hits. He struck out two.
