The North Greenville Trailblazers fell to the Newberry Wolves in non-conference action this evening in Newberry, South Carolina. North Greenville took an early lead in the 1st when CJ Dean hit an RBI single, but starting pitcher Thayer Tavormina would run into trouble in the bottom of the inning as the Wolves would respond with five runs, three of them earned to take the lead. After a scoreless 2nd inning, Newberry would strike again in the 3rd inning with three runs to lead 8-1. The Trailblazers would add a run in the top of the 4th by way of a Cooper Noble RBI single, but pitching would take over from there for both teams as inning 5-9 went scoreless to secure the victory for the Wolves. The loss puts North Greenville's overall record at 25-7.

CJ Dean went 2 for 4 at the plate with a double, a run, and an RBI. Thomas Skipper pitched 2.0 strong innings, allowing just a hit by pitch and collecting 2 strikeouts. Kadan Roach also pitched 2.0 solid innings, allowing just 2 hits and recording 4 strikeouts.

NGU will return to action on Friday, March 27th against the Panthers of Ferrum College in Ferrum, Virginia.
