The North Greenville Trailblazers came out on top against the Panthers of Ferrum College with a final score of 5-3 to begin a weekend conference series in Ferrum, Virginia. After two scoreless innings, NGU struck first in the 3rd with an RBI single by Landon Peavy. However, Ferrum responded in the bottom of the inning with a two-RBI triple to take the lead. Kai Tullos homered in the 4th to tie the game at 2-2. After a scoreless 5th, the Trailblazers reclaimed the lead in the 6th with an RBI single by Connor McKee. Down to their lead out in the 9th, the Panthers would score the tying run to force extra inning. CJ Dean would put NGU right back up in the 10th with a solo home run. Kai Tullos would add an insurance run by way of an RBI double. Connor Brinson took care of Ferrum in the bottom of the inning to secure the win.

Kai Tullos finished his day with 2 hits including a home run, 2 RBIs and a run. CJ Dean also posted 2 hits with a home run, 2 runs, and an RBI. Matty Brown put together an impressive start on the mound, pitching 7.0 strong innings, allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5.

The series will conclude with a doubleheader tomorrow in Ferrum, Virginia at noon.
