The North Greenville Trailblazers faced the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College this afternoon in Young Harris, Georgia. NGU was able to even up the series with a 4-2 win to open up the doubleheader, but dropped the final game of the series in extra-innings with a final score of 3-2.
Matty Brown took the mound to begin the doubleheader for NGU. Brown had the help of the NGU offense early on as
Alton Gyselman hit an RBI single in the 1st inning before North Greenville kept things going with three runs in the 2nd including an RBI single by
Brett Blomquist and a two-RBI single by
Gideon Antle. After a scoreless 3rd inning, Young Harris would get on the board in the 4th with two runs to cut the deficit to two runs. Brown would pitch one more inning before turning things over to
Matthew Taubensee, who would pitch two scoreless innings to secure the win for North Greenville.

Brady Price was the starting pitcher for the final game of the series. Pitching controlled things early on as the first four innings would go scoreless. Young Harris was the first team on the board as they would score a run in the 5th. NGU was able to get on the board in the 6th when
Brett Blomquist hit a home run to left field. That was followed by an RBI ground out by
Jake Sears to give North Greenville the lead. Young Harris was able to tie things up with a run in the 8th by way of a passed ball. With two runners on in the bottom of the 11th, a dropped fly ball allowed the winning run to score for the walk-off. Brent Strukes allowed an unearned run, but took the loss. With the loss, NGU moves to 24-8 for the season with an 11-7 record in conference play.
Brett Blomquist put together an impressive afternoon, finishing the day with six hits including a home run and recording three runs, two RBIs, and two stolen bases.
Thomas Powell posted three hits throughout the afternoon.
Brady Price had a solid start on the mound, pitching 6.0 innings and allowing just one run on four hits and a walk while striking out three.
North Greenville will face the Wasps of Emory & Henry University on Tuesday, March 25th in Emory, Virginia.
