The North Greenville Trailblazers completed a sweep of the Hawaii Pacific Sharks last night in Honolulu, Hawaii after an 8th inning home run put North Greenville up by a run. Tied at 8-8, Landon Shaw connected for a solo home run to left field to make the score 9-8, which would go on to be the final score. NGU led 5-0 early on with a run in the 1st and four runs in the 2nd including a two-RBI double by Bryce Roddey. However, the Sharks matched the Trailblazers with four runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. North Greenville would add two runs to the board in the 4th, but Hawaii Pacific would even things up after scoring a run in the 5th followed by two more runs in the 6th. After a scoreless 7th, the Landon Shaw home run would go on to become the winning run. Tyler Dean pitched a scoreless 9th inning to earn his first collegiate save. Matthew Taubensee was the winning pitcher. With the win, NGU improves to 8-0 for the season as they return to Tigerville.

Bryce Roddey wrapped up his trip with two hits including a double as well as two runs and two RBIs. Landon Shaw posted two hits of his own including the game-winning home run. Matthew Taubensee pitched 2.1 scoreless innings with only a walk allowed while striking out four.

NGU will open up conference play on Friday, February 14th against the Hawks of Shorter University in Rome, Georgia.
