The North Greenville Trailblazers completed the four-game sweep of the USC Beaufort Sand Sharks this afternoon in Beaufort, South Carolina by taking game one of the day with a final score of 8-1 and also winning game two with a score of 13-3. North Greenville was able to get things started in the 1st inning with two runs before USC Beaufort responded with a run in the 2nd. From there, it was all NGU as the lineup continued to put up runs throughout the remainder of the game.
Jake Monroe was the winning pitcher. NGU once again scored runs in the 1st to begin game two including an RBI double by
Gideon Antle. The 6th inning proved to be big for NGU as a one run lead turned into a six run lead. After three additional runs in the 8th, the Trailblazers put the exclamation point on the game in the 9th by way of a home run by
Andrew Sands.
Kadan Roach was the winning pitcher.
Thomas Powell went three for four at the plate including a double and also recorded an RBI, a walk, and a run scored.
Josh Foulks finished his day with four RBIs, three walks, two runs, and a hit.
Jake Monroe pitched 4.0 solid innings, allowing just one run, one hit, and one walk while striking out two.
NGU will head to Honolulu, Hawaii for a week, taking on the Sharks of Hawaii Pacific University on Thursday, February 6th.
