The North Greenville Trailblazers began the 2024 season with a disappointing 5-0 loss to the Bearcats of Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina. NGU fell behind early by a goal within the first three minutes of the match. Lander would continue to pull away throughout the remainder of the first half, scoring a second goal in the 18th minute and a third goal in the 34th minute. The Trailblazers would post just one shot in the half. LU pulled away further with two additional goals in the second half. NGU was able to put up two shots with both on goal, but the Bearcats were ultimately able to keep North Greenville off the scoreboard to complete the shutout to begin the season.

Haleigh Holland finished the match with five saves at goalkeeper. Macy Metcalf and Holly Lanter posted NGU's only two shots on goal. Allison Curlee recorded North Greenville's only shot of the first half.

The Trailblazers will return to action on Saturday, September 7th against the Blazers of Valdosta State University at Pepsi Stadium.
