Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers nearly completed a comeback but ultimately fell behind against the Bearcats of Lander University with a final score of 63-51 at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU was outscored 16-9 in the first quarter but bounced back by outscoring Lander in both the second and third quarters to trail by just three going into the fourth quarter. The Trailblazers scored the first two points to cut the deficit to one. However, NGU would then go nearly four minutes without scoring a point while turnovers allowed Lander to pull away by double digits. North Greenville ended the night by scoring the final three points, but the Bearcats would leave Tigerville with a double digit victory.
Amaijah Smith finished her solid performance with seventeen points as well as three rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Ja'Mari Frederick scored eight points and provided two steals.
Abi Oates recorded five points as well as five steals, two rebounds, and an assist.
NGU will return to action on Saturday, November 23rd against the Bobcats of Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia.
