North Greenville dropped their first weekend match of the season with a 3-0 loss to the Mastodons of Purdue University Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Mastodons controlled set one and went on to take it 25-18 before a very competitive set two ended in extra points with Purdue Fort Wayne winning the set 27-25. The third set proved to be competitive as well, but the Mastodons narrowly took it 25-23 to complete the sweep. North Greenville finished with a .194 attack percentage. Although North Greenville was swept, they kept things close in nearly every category including kills and aces.
Logan Keothavy led NGU in kills with 11 while also providing 5 digs, a service ace, and an assist.
Diego Rosich was solid, posting 9 kills, 7 digs, 2 assists, and two blocks.
Michael de la Cruz finished with 7 kills, 2 blocks, a service ace, and a dig.
NGU returns to action on Saturday, January 20th in Harrogate, Tennessee against the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University.
