Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders began the week with a 66-62 victory over the Rams of Winston-Salem State University this evening at Hayes Gymnasium. A solid day of shooting ended with a .426 field goal percentage while going an even .400 from three point territory. NGU dominated the opening quarter to lead by seven as the clock hit zero. However, the Rams responded in the second quarter by closing the gap and taking a one point lead into halftime. A closely contested third quarter resulted in the Crusaders leading by one going into the fourth. WSSU began the final quarter by scoring the first three points to take a two point lead, but NGU would go on to reclaim the lead and would not give it back up, hanging on for a four point win.
Abi Oates put together an impressive performance, scoring 21 points and also providing an assist.
Angie Rodriguez also put up solid numbers, finishing with 15 points, 2 steals, a rebound, and an assist.
Geassy Germano was productive in multiple ways, recording 6 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.
North Greenville will return to action on Friday, November 24th against the Panthers of Florida Tech in Daytona Beach, Florida.
