Box Score The North Greenville Crusaders kicked off the 2023-24 season with a win over the Newberry Wolves with a final score of 67-54 in Newberry, South Carolina. After getting off to a slow start, NGU trailed at the end of the first quarter with a score of 18-12. However, the Crusaders would go on to outscore Newberry in the remaining three quarters. North Greenville finished off the game with an impressive .414 field goal percentage and led in fast break points as well as points off turnovers. Although NGU went 0-12 from the three point line in the first three quarters, the fourth quarter would see the Crusaders get going from behind the perimeter, going 5-7 to finish with a .263 three point percentage.

Geassy Germano posted a double-double in her first game as a Crusader, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds. She also put up a block and a steal. Abi Oates finished with 13 points, 3 rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Aniecia Malone recorded 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.

NGU will return to action tomorrow in Newberry against the Jaguars of Augusta University.
