North Greenville was unable to overcome a 1st half double-digit deficit this afternoon in Florence, South Carolina, falling to the Francis Marion Patriots with a final score of 78-61. A high-scoring Francis Marion team shot over 50% from the field in the 1st half, going into halftime with a 46-30 lead while NGU struggled from the field with a .367 first half percentage. A low-scoring 3rd quarter proved to be more competitive as FMU would outscore the Trailblazers by just two points, taking a 60-42 lead into the 4th quarter. North Greenville would outscore Francis Marion 19-18 in the 4th, but the Patriots would easily hang on for the double-digit win. NGU shot .370 from the field. Turnovers proved to be an issue for the Trailblazers as the Patriots managed 28 points off turnovers.
Maliyiah Mason led NGU with 23 points as well as 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
