NGU Breaks Through in Second Half to Defeat SWU

North Greenville came out of Central, SC victorious with a 3-1 win over the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University. After both teams went into halftime scoreless, the Crusaders broke through in the 2nd half as eighteen shots in the half resulted in three goals. Ansley Robinson, Faith Knoedler, and Elainee Sprikle scored goals.

  • The North Greenville offense had multiple opportunities throughout the 1st half, putting up twelve shots. Four would result in saves. Southern Wesleyan would record five shots in the half, with Maggie Schopp recording a save.
  • Ansley Robinson put the Crusaders on the board in the 2nd half with a goal. About five minutes later, Faith Knoedler would add to the NGU lead with a goal of her own. After the Warriors were able to get on the board with a goal, Elainee Sprinkle would score an insurance goal with five minutes remaining. Schopp posted three saves in the half.
