North Greenville Defeats King to Advance to Semifinals

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put together a three goal performance against the Tornado of King University to advance to the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. After taking a one goal lead in the 1st half, NGU pulled away for good with two more goals in the 2nd half. Taylor Harvey and Faith Knoedler both recorded a goal as well as an assist.

Recap
  • NGU began the match with the first three shots. After the Tornado posted two shots, the Crusaders would respond with two shots of their own, with the second resulting in a goal by Faith Knoedler with an assist by Kayla Cruse. North Greenville dominated the 1st half in shots 11-2, but would just score once to go into halftime with a one goal lead.
  • With just over twenty minutes remaining in the 2nd half, the Crusaders would score their second goal when Taylor Harvey found the back of the net with an assist by Faith Knoedler. With the match in hand, North Greenville would add one more insurance goal in the 88th minute when Jada Patrick scored a goal with an assist by Taylor Harvey.
