Turnovers Costly as NGU Falls to SWU

Tigerville, SC - North Greenville fell to the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University with a final score of 78-68 this afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium. Turnovers proved to be the difference as the Warriors capitalized with thirty points off turnovers while the Crusaders scored just twelve of their own. Free throws also proved to be a struggle as NGU was 16-29 (55.2%) from the free throw line.

  • The Warriors were able to pull out in front with a score of 16-11 in the 1st quarter thanks to a 43.75 field goal percentage for the quarter. North Greenville went five of fifteen from the field for a 33.33 percentage. Southern Wesleyan led by as much as seven in the quarter, but a late jumper by Tolisha Walker cut the lead down to five to end the quarter.
  • NGU would outscore the Warriors 22-21 in the second quarter to cut the deficit down to four points going into halftime, going seven for fifteen from the field for a 46.67 percentage.
