North Greenville Hangs Five on Southern Wesleyan

Tigerville, SC - North Greenville overpowered the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University with a 5-0 victory at Pepsi Stadium. The Crusaders dominated the day in shots 28-8 including a completely one-sided first half that resulted in sixteen shots for NGU and just two for SWU. With the win, the Crusaders now hold a 6-1-1 conference record and sit 4th in the Conference Carolinas standings.

Recap
  • Southern Wesleyan would take the first shot of the match in the opening minute, but from there the Crusaders would take over offensively with a total of sixteen shots throughout the half. North Greenville would get on the scoreboard in the 23rd minute with a goal by Faith Knoedler off an assist by Megan Biehl. Just four minutes later, Kayla Cruse would score a second goal for the Crusaders with assists by Romee Contreras and Sarah Adcock. 
  • In the first minute of the second half, a foul would result in a penalty kick by Faith Knoedler, which would indeed find the back of the net to put the Crusaders up 3-0. Just under ten minutes later, Romee Contreras posted a goal of her own with an assist by Faith Knoedler. With the match in hand, NGU would settle down late but would score one last goal when Abby Mayer was assisted by Victoria Valentine.
