Tigerville – Four players scored in double-figures and the Crusaders overcame an eight-point deficit in the first half to take down Southern Wesleyan 65-51 on Wednesday night.

North Greenville outscored the Warriors 15-6 in the final seven minutes of the second period to chop down what was a 20-12 advantage for the Warriors to just one point at intermission. The lead for the Warriors quickly evaporated in the third quarter as NGU’s offense put together one of its best quarters of the season.

Journey Muhammad got out of the gates quickly, knocking down a three-pointer in the opening minutes to tilt the score to a one-point edge for North Greenville. NGU then exploded for 27-more points in the final nine minutes to take a 56-43 edge.

The Crusaders shot just 38-percent for the game but made 14-shots in the third compared to just seven misses. The offense quickly fell off in the fourth quarter with just 17-points combined between the two teams.

Muhammad led all scorers on Wednesday with 13-points on five of 11 shooting. She was three of seven from three-point range and finished with five rebounds and a trio of steels. Peace Okeke registered the game’s only double-double as she turned in 10-points and a game-high 15-rebounds including eight on the offensive end.

Karen Donehew and Savannah Hughes also finished with double-digit numbers with 10-points each. Donehew also had three steals and led North Greenville with four assists.
