Box Score Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders fell just short of a comeback in a 2-1 loss to the Limestone Saints. Down 2-0, NGU found the back of the net late in the second half, but was unable to find a second goal.
1st Half
Both teams put up several shots throughout the first half. In the 39th minute, a foul would allow Limestone's Holly Rawcliffe to take a penalty kick, which resulted in her 6th goal of the season and a 1-0 lead for the Saints. LC remained aggressive with three shots in the final five minutes of the half, but the Crusader defense held together to keep another goal from scoring. NGU took five shots in the half while Limestone recorded nine.
2nd Half
The Saints made quick work in the half with a second goal in the 59th minute, which was Megan O'Connor's eleventh of the season. North Greenville spent the remainder of the half trying to get on the board, and would finally do so in the 87th minute when Michaela Gleed connected with a header off a corner kick by Sarah Hazelwood for her first goal of the season. However, NGU was unable to get another shot off, and time would run out with the Saints getting the win. Both teams recorded five shots each in the half.
Individual
Michaela Gleed led the Crusaders with 3 shots as well as her 1st goal of the season.
Kayla Cruse took 2 shots in her 37 minutes played, both on goal.
Natalie Johnson played all 90 minutes, and recorded a shot that was on goal.
