Box Score Tigerville, S.C. -- The Lady Crusaders pulled off a 2nd half rally to win over Southern Wesleyan Warriors 61-49.
What started off as an 18-16 1st quarter lead for the Crusaders ended with missed opportunities in the 2nd quarter. The Warriors outscored North Greenville 12-5 in the second frame to take a 28-23 lead into intermission.
Crusaders regrouped in the third with top scorers Karen Donehew and Cameron Carter leading the charge. Donehew and Carter helped close an eight-point margin in the third as NGU gained a one-point edge with the final quarter remaining. North Greenville held a slim two-point edge with 9:56 left in the game but an 8-0 run, sparked by a Cameron Carter three gave NGU a 10-point lead. Turnovers and rebounds, 24/34, by the Warriors helped bring the final score to 61-49.
Donehew notched a double double for the Crusaders with 19-points and 12-rebounds while Carter added 14-points. Divonnie Powell tallied nine points for North Greenville. The Crusaders shot 38.1-percent from the floor for the game, but turned 24 SWU turnovers into 23-points.
The Lady Crusaders (9-11,6-8 CC) take on Barton College on Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
