Box Score Tigerville, S.C. - North Greenville tied with Emmanuel College on Thursday after two overtimes with a final score of 1-1. The Crusaders are now 2-7-1 (0-5-1 CC) on the season.
North Greenville struck first in the first half when Lindsay Tuten (15:01) went unassisted to put in her second goal of the season to take a 1-0 lead over Emmanuel College. After taking five shots on goal, the Lions’ sixth shot on goal would find the back of the net as Emmanuel’s Natalie Stevenson would set up Katie Estrada (24:15) to tie the game up at one all. NGU finished the first half with five shots on goal and NGU’s Madelynn Schober would have six saves in the first half.
Both teams would be held scoreless in the second half with all seven shots on goal taken between both teams finding the hands of NGU’s Madelyn Schober and EC’s Marina Eisenhut. Lindsay Tuten and Michaela Gleed would take NGU’s second half shots on goal in the second half and Schober would add five saves to make a total of 11 saves at the end of regulation.
Neither team would allow a score in overtime as North Greenville and Emmanuel College would finish the game with a score of 1-1.
Lindsay Tuten would finish the game as the NGU shots leader with 5 shots (4 SOG) while also scoring NGU’s lone goal for the game. Madelynn Schober would finish the game with 13 saves bringing her season total to 81 saves on the season.
North Greenville will look for their first conference win on Saturday, October 8, 2016 as they take on the Pfeiffer Falcons.
